Planning. That thing we all know we need To do but hate to do.
My days typically start around 4pm the day before. That’s when I begin to consider all the things that I 1) need to get done tomorrow and 2) didn’t get done today. Tasks and meetings. I never start the day before I finish it on paper.
I find that by planning (time blocking) my day, I create a mini “contract” with myself around all the things I need to get done. Sometimes I win. Sometimes I don’t.
I use a paper planner (because paper still feels better). Figure out what works for you.
The hardest part? Holding myself accountable to my contract. But you have to. You have to be ruthless with yourself if you are going to accomplish your goals.
